I respect your artistic talent but being a fellow military aviation member the caption was UNCALLED FOR. We are not all "infantile military morons" as you say. With all due respect I had an S.A.T. score of 2240. And mistakes happen; it is very hectic and stressful when deployed. Not only is it disrespectful to active members but also to the memory of those fallen.
Again, the right to a MEANINGFUL opinion on this particular piece is reserved for the nationality of the fallen. Thanks for your concern about our men, but, as I say, the opinion of the artwork's depiction of the victims is the U.K.'s to make and no one else's.

I'm impressed and honoured to have comments on a cartoon I submitted two years ago!
For your information, Canada has an army which is as dumb as the U.S. one!
And a lot of Canadians are laughing out loud about it!
But our army is very less agressive than the U.S.'s... Which is fine.
I don't want our government spend money on killing people for their oil!!!
as what was said before.....this CRAP is coming from a guy that lives in a country that has no military. BUt if something happens to your country, your government is going to cry to us and you are going to thank america for saving your ass.
Uh, no offence, but people of other countries don't really want to attack Canada, because they've really done nothing to anyone else which could possibly result in a provoked attack. So its pretty unlikely to happen.
People want to attack America... or where I live (Britain) if anywhere at all (for obvious reasons)... just saying...
Anyways Nice cartoon, pretty dark but then I guess it is kind of suppossed to be...
Technology has nothing to do with mistakes. People accidently died from "friendly fire" when humans still fought with swords.
Your "moron" comment was an uneducated one, especially when you consider it was the US military, you know, those "infantile military morons," that kept the Soviets from coming through Alaska and running over your country in a day.
Don't talk to us about our dead when it was your lot who killed them. And, since they are OUR dead - not yours - the opinion on a satirical cartoon about the fact is reserved for us and us alone. If you don't like it, don't shoot other countries' military personnel. Thanks all the same.
Very good picture! Coming from a country where satire is the daily norm, I don't find this too disrespectful, I have to agree with the others stating that Black Humor is supposed to be a bit disrespectful. This is really not way out of line, so chill!
(Of course, my message is sadly outdated, so this topic is probably dead anyway. But I would like to express my support anyway!)
Accidents happen in the best of circumstances, and I'm not saying that friendly fire is acceptable. I just think you're going to the extremes to call weapons toys and the trained military as infantile.
OK, put yourself in the shoes of our soldiers... Imagine being in the middle of a battle, where ONE PLANE could be holding a bomb with your name on it. The plane is coming right for you.
I dunno the whole story behind this, cuz all I heard was that we accidentally shot down allied aircraft. Who knows, maybe there were communication problems. Calling our troops morons is kinda retarded of you.
Now, I'm a sick fuck, and I love black humor. When it comes to people who have actually died, however... it ain't that funny. Mistakes do happen, and ther are some mistakes we all will regret for the rest of our lives. I'm sure the soldiers who shot down those planes will be having nightmares about it the rest of their lives.
Anyhow, I think you should lay off bashing the whole war thing with your art. Every other idiot is doing it, so you're just adding to the pile of annoying garbage that is already out there. You HAVE the talent Put it to better use...
First, let me tell you that I visited yr gallery and found it just amazing!!! Man, I loved the cartoons: the poignant and mature concepts, great compositions, fine use of colours, typos etc. Just excelent!. Also, I share your thoughts regarding the absurd of Iraq War (Oil War, Bush War, Shame War, Illegal War) and the insanity of the US government on this matter. In special, I want to congratulate you on this controversial deviation. Some people found it disrespectful... ...well, I´m sorry for those bros who did not catch the real point and the power of the (peaceful) message. FRIENDLY FIRE is a cartoon "master piece", that alerts we are all potential victims of the current and official stupidity.
Go ahead with yr fabulous work. Be what you know, do what you feel. Congrats!
The drawing is excelent, however I've got to agree with some people that your description is indeed not so good.
Perhaps you didn't meant exactly what people read, if not, a correction would be appreciated.
I find it both creative and truthful enough to stand as a political commentary and cartoon. I don't know about the Brit pilots incident (haven't caught it on the news), but a similar thing (...aka dying) happened to four Canadian soldiers on a training run in Afghanistan. Even though everyone knew they would be there and firing weapons, two American pilots flew over and loosed some bombs despite orders Not too. You have to wonder what "they" are thinking, sometimes, putting fatigued soldiers in control of massively powerful weapons...
Ok, this is just awful. It truly seems disrespectful to those that fought in the war. Of course there will be friendly fire in war. There isn't a single war in history without some kind of friendly fire. But to call those that accidentally killed those people "infantile military morons" is absolutely uncalled for.
as an editorial cartoon i would have said its great .. because it is well rendered and poignent ..stand alone ..but then i read your description and i view it as mean disrespectful to those who have lost someone in this conflict to friendly fire .. it is distasteful and i find nothing funny about it.
